A rather amusing Police moment from the other night... 17 Years, 1 Month ago
At about xx* am, we pulled in at the services along with 2 police cars.

Here we go , I thought, but with a clear conscience we sat down with them in Costa Packet and nibbled buns and drank coffee.
2 more police cars arrived and before we knew it we were sitting with no fewer than 7 officers.

"Could we have our photo taken with you?" I asked, never losing a chance of a photo op.
"Oooh, you`ll have to ask the "Super"", I was told.

"Which one is he?" I asked, to which I was gestured towards a person dressed in similar attire only notably larger in girth.
At this point, I think I understood police ranking, the big ones seemed to be in charge, much like ants and bees.
I asked the question again to the "Super".(sorry to name drop)

"In the old days sir, that would have been fine, but these days with all the data protection and daft stuff like that I`m afraid we can`t do it."
I was`nt really surprised but it was worth a go, although I did say "it wasn`t that bad a gig was it?".

We left, overhearing the surreal conversation which went like this.

"Hey , did you see that red "B" reg, `e was all over the place, I was going to pull him but then I saw you were going to!"

"Well I didn`t pull him over because I thought you were going to!"

*n.b, I have removed the time of this event for obvious reasons, see quote above from the "Super".

My friends visiting from the USA asked two policemen if they could be photographed with them, and the police agreed happily. But maybe there was no "Super" nearby.

Or maybe the police knew you were a performer and thought you might use them in a publicity shot.

Hello Mart,

Being a relative newcomer to the board (well eight months since my first contribution), I noticed that Denise mentioned you are a performer. What is your most notable work?

Great story about the police.

Thanks

Mike

Hi Mike;
I actually can`t answer that question as I kinda think "notable work in which context?"
All I can say is, I won`t be retired for a good score years yet and it is probably yet to come.
I have only one number one to my credit and it was a video so it doesn`t count really,(not in my book anyway) and I do try any stunt to get arrested still on a misdemenour

I`m tempted to leave a message saying simply LOL!, but that would of course, in this context read entirely wrong!
What I will say though, is I can not really ever explain the disbelief of going in to a Virgin Megastore at the time, in search of my work, failing to find it in the obscurities, due to the fact that all the copies were filed under the number one spot.
It was one of the most incredible moments of my life and notably in those days, I had not even received a phone call informing me of events.
A kind of strange reversal in events these days, as now being completely DIY , nobody would call me either should the event occur again in any context.

Dined out on it? yes.

Lived a life a life of Reilly on the royalties?
I refer back to simply, LOL!

The Number One classification was a prediction!!!!

You did get a Number One in the FAB Chart.

Someone buy that store clerk a biscuit.
