Delicious - they howl that Amy Winehouse is being let off prosecution (over that dodgy Sun video) because of a "legal loophole".

The loophole is - nobody can prove she was smoking crack cocaine.

She could have been smoking oregano. My God, the day when something The Sun decides is enough to jail someone is getting frighteningly close, innit?

I was given 6 years for "attempted buggery". This (and you can read the trial transcript) amounted to "Would you like to do this?". "No". "Oh, OK".

Untrue anyway as it happens. I was in America at the time, thousands of miles away. But even if it had been true, isn't 6 years a bit steep?

What can I say. I saw this coming. Alice is living in Wonderland.

It's also interesting how people get "selected" for treatment ... good or bad.

Obviously Amy is a target right now, and (for example) Beckham is a "golden boy" as they mention him every time he moves (I'm expecting "Beckham passes wind" or "Beckham goes to the loo" headlines any day now !)

Do you become "good" if you give their journos special access maybe?

And how are people "selected" to be bad?

I bought the Mirror today, to make sure I absorbed all media, does anyone else get the feeling they could have written the whole paper themselves in a day?

Alice used to live on Portobello Road. I think that's where she moved to when she stopped being Chris Norman's neighbour. For a while she hung out with Dr and The Medics. I got a nice letter from her, late 1980s.

P.S. I agree that 6 years is steep for a suggestion. If you'd been Jonathan Bloggs the road sweeper you might have got a fine, if they'd bothered to arrest you at all.
