It's being said that the final story under the direction of RTD might be a "wipe out" episode which pretty much destroys all the changes which he's introduced, thus allowing Steven Moffat a chance to take the show in his own direction.

It'll be interesting to see how that develops.
Funny I was thinking that earlier myself - all eras of Who have gone through reboots - the most substantial was 1970 when the show went to colour, had Jon Pertwee in the lead and for that first year, stuck on Earth.
