How can you not like a man going into the semi saying he doesn't have a chance against Federer?

We all like Marat Safin.

And the German guy playing Nadal was superb yesterday.

I'm rooting for the under dogs.

I really fell for Venus last year - she gave a pre Wimbledon interview and came across as so nice and so genuine that both me and my Mum really liked her.

Laura Robson plays in the Girls' final today. If she wins she could be invited to the Women's tournament next year, even though she is only 14. Her opponant is Thai Noppawan Lertcheewakarn.

Laura is a first girl finalist for 24 years.

Yes this is tremendous - the first truly excellent British tennis player in years.

Roll on Laura.

Meanwhile I'm rooting for Venus and Nadal.

Well done Venus!
What a wonderful smile Venus had holding that prize.
What a pair. Great sisters.

Is it just me or does Greg Rusetzki (who I really don't like as a commentator and didn't like much as a player either) sound creepily like John Malkovich?

If Malkovich could play tennis it would be a serious drama event.

"I don`t think that ball was out, but it maaaaaaay have been. How did it look for you? I said how DID IT LOOK FOR YOU? Are you feeling good about this? how do you sleep, I bet you have nightmares....." etc

Sorry, this thread is still amusing me!
If Michael J Fox could play tennis, of course the ball would be hit impossibly past him and Marty McFly would appear in western costume in the background and hit it back over the net with a rifle, whilst the Doc screams , "Marty!! 2 minutes to go!!".

Denzil Washington? Pah, he just defends..........

Federer/Nadal... good stuff.
I do like Croaky Tim as a commentator - he'll be fine.

Well after one set I have to say - these are the two best players in the world by a million miles and they may be the best ever.

I think we can look forward to several years of truly classic, Borg/McEnroe type competition.

Incidentally, not that this matters but don't both Roger and Raffy seem like incredibly nice young men?
