TOPIC: He's saved his 'Bacon'
#42698
He's saved his 'Bacon' 16 Years, 3 Months ago
news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/kent/7966395.stm

Wonderful news about chef Peter Bacon being found not guilty of rape.
At least here the judge was showing commonsense, not political correctness.
A woman drunk can be held legally responsible for any criminal act she may commit, but cannot consent to sex, even if she's the one who instigated it herself!

Are we seeing some reality coming into false abuse accusation claims? Both the judge and the jury saw through this scam.Just a shame no mention of prosecuting the woman accused.

This is indeed good news. Could it be that the false accusers bandwagon is grinding to a halt, all these years later?

I haven't followed this case but I think it's worth saying that it's only good news if he is genuinely not guilty.

This whole episode seems to be a case of the accuser waking up the next morning, realising what had happened the night before, feeling totally ashamed of herself and her way of making herself feel better about what had happened was to cry rape. If she had kept her legs closed in the first place instead of jumping into bed with a man she barely knew then this mans good name would not have been dragged through the mud for past year or so.
The most sickening part of it though is that this woman will have life long anonymity whereas this poor bloke has been featured in every national newspaper.
In my opinion both parties should have a right to anonymity until a case has been proven.

I too have awoken like this hideous woman and decided that the beer made me do silly things.

I prefer to forget asap. Why anyone-if it had genuinley happened, would want to re-live it through a court is a mystery and shows real madness.

In fact I'd suggest most of those who lived durimg the "swinging sixties" when there really was such a thing as "free love" would have all found themselves in the clink according to these idiotic laws.

Perhaps those who are making all these complex new laws are pissed off they can't get up to it now.

Annonymity should be for either both or neither..if it's ony one side it's completely unfair.

I'm pleased Mr Bacon walked from court with his head in the air, a smile on his face and 2 good looking girls on his arm.
