TOPIC: Police at it again

Police at it again 16 Years, 3 Months ago
www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1168280...igh-Court-rules.html

A conviction dating back to 1987 by a 16 year old boy.
This was spent by 1992.No more offences, except an accusation that the CPS could not even prosecute, and believe me they'll prosecute given even a slim chance of a conviction.
At least this time the courts got it right, well mostly. The law still says accusations (not proved) can be given out...innocent until proved guilty?

Good to see the law is actually enforced for once but it shouldn't have had to go so far.

Note some of the comments :" But what about the rights of his victims and potential victims?' . At what stage does a person become free ?

Similar cases show how corrupting police can be :
Mate, your girlfriend was a bloke
GARRICK Jacobson was in custody at Surry Hills police station when he apparently discovered his girlfriend used to be a man.

Within hours of being released on bail, he went to her apartment and started "belting the hell" out of her, Downing Centre Local Court heard yesterday.

The two police officers who allegedly revealed the information about his then partner's past are now charged with breaching privacy laws.

The woman, who was not a police officer, was working at the force's criminal records branch

I'm a little bit confused by this judge. One one hand he says that the man's human rights were violated and that the police failed to act within government guidelines, but then he says that the police were entitled to inform the employer.

Oh .. I just went back to the story to check it again, and it says no longer available. Seems like I read it just before they deleted it.

I just did an experiment based on a former experience with links on forums. The link works fine for me, but when I came into the reply box and tried the link in the posts section below the reply box it says sorry, page no longer available. I have no idea why this happens. One of the oddities of the internet.
