Yesterday in Parliament the full HORROR of the ACPO led POLICE EVENT charges were laid before Parliament in a debate.

If the POLICE have their way they will add £4 to £5 to every person going to a football game OR gig OR event.

This is totally outrageous and shows that the POLICE now are a FOR PROFIT BROUGHT OFF organisation. If anyone needed proof that THE POLICE are not a PRIVATE GESTAPO these charges are it.

Lobby your MP - protest to your local paper - especially if you are involved with events in any way in the UK.

Can the Police get any further into the gutter in the UK. Soon we will all be "locked" in our homes under HOUSE ARREST having to show ID cards to even move around and go to watch a football game or go to a concert or the pub.

I am not being extreme - go and read the article if you dont believe me. £5 on a £15/£13/£9 ticket. That is the police taking a 25% to 60% cut of each person attending the game. Outrageous.

that would set a dangerous precedent.Identifying community activities and charging more for policing at some...a short step to charging for the policing of demonstrations etc.

It would open up a can of worms. I would expect those being charged a cost to expect a contract from the police with certain standards..and if a crime happened the police could be held responsible.

It goes against the whole idea of taxing and spreading the money around where it's best used-always difficult and open to manipulation and corruption by governments.

Will it extend to say, road works where wealthier areas can have repairs done by paying more and poorer areas remain potholed ridden.

Bad bad move.
