When I think of all the comments regarding Portsmouth (£140m debt) and how they had "bought" the FA cup in 2008 because of their level of debt and were now getting what they deserved, it now appears that Chelsea (£726m debt) have "bought" this year's FA Cup and Premiership title, Man Utd £700m debt) have "bought" the last two Premiership titles, Liverpool (£400m debt) have "bought" a place in Europe and West ham (£140m debt) have "bought" a place in the Premiership next year.
Hull (£60m debt) obviously didn't spend as wisely because they haven't managed to buy anything with their money !
And the Chelsea debt to the Russian is repayable at 18 months notice and there are rumours that he wants to pull out. As for West Ham theyve got more debt than Portsmouth. No wonder they are trying to blag a free stadium.
Chelsea Football Club has released a statement today (Wednesday) following media stories on club finance.
The statement reads:
'Contrary to media reports today, other than a small residual balance Chelsea Football Club and our parent company Chelsea FC plc are debt free and do not owe any money to our shareholder (Fordstam Ltd). Neither do we owe any money to Roman Abramovich.'

I agree Giles. (But, seeing as a Chelski fan has submitted a response, I must also point out, in a similarly partisan spirit, that Liverpool haven't 'bought' much - those two crooks in charge have stuck a massive debt on us whilst stalling the club's progress on the pitch.)
By the way: come on Blackpool! They could be in the Premier League! Orange shirts! Baggy shorts! Stanley Matthews! Jumpers for goalposts! They could be our Pompey for a season. I will be willing them to victory!
(P.S. Start googling soon for Blackpool's 'Comedy Carpet' - it might sound mad, but I think it's going to be an amazing thing once it's finished. The arty people from 'Why Not' designers in London are working on it. It's going to be fab!)
