ACCUSED TEACHERS to remain ANON unless convicted 15 Years, 1 Month ago
Fantastic news for all teachers that trial by media for teachers is now a thing of the past with the announcement today by the LIB CONS that they will pass a law to this effect.

This is the single biggest victory for the teaching profession in my lifetime and much respect to the NUT , NASUWT, etc for fighting for this for nearly 20 years.

This is only fair and hopefully the other laws regarding SEX ALLEGATIONS OF RAPE which allow defendants to remain ANON will now put off many people from trying to ruin other peoples' lives with no evidence. The POLICE will also not be able to wage their campaign against TEACHERS as they have done over the last 20 years.

This truly is a fantastic victory.

Teachers are very decent people - there are very few who are bad or dangerous in any way. Many are pompous and some are a little crazy but I come from a family of teachers and they all work or worked very hard with little recognition. The NEW LABOUR POLICE have made most decent teachers question whether they want to teach - especially MEN who are victim of allegations on almost a weekly basis by teen girls with hormonal rage ( which is only to be expected at that age !! ) and hence the leaving of the profession by thousands of good male teachers in the last 10 years leaving many primary schools and lower secondary schools almost totally female staffed.

CONGRATS TO NICK CLEGG on pushing this all through. Well done CAMERON for recogising this as well.

A NEW DAY HAS DAWNED TODAY in UK POLITICS. Thank GOD !!!!

This is indeed excellent news. I'm starting to believe the new government might truly be serious about fixing 'broken Britain'.

Can you provide a link BR? I haven't been able to find anything via Google News.

EVERY person accused should remain anonymous imo.

The police act on the most tenuous allegation and the whole point of publicising an arrest is the "whip up" "similar" allegations (on the basis that if he's done it once he probably did it again !)

This flies in the face of being "tried" purely on the evidence (of THAT particular allegation).

www.direct.gov.uk/prod_consum_dg/groups/...lasset/dg_187876.pdf

This is the actual document with all policies from the coalition.

Excellent reading - and lets hope common sense prevails !!!

As long as Parliament backs these reforms ( and decent LABOUR MPs should do so ) Then we can restore COMMON SENSE back to the UK>

INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY is the BRITISH WAY !!!!
NO TO TRIAL BY MEDIA !!!

and then the POLICE will stop "playing to the gallery"

I would like to see the POLICE BANNED from doing TV programmes as well. They should get on with their job.
