NSPCC dont believe in CROSS EXAMINATION in Trials is reliable !!!! 15 Years, 1 Month ago
From BBC Site
"NSPCC lawyer Barbara Esam said: "Research has shown that many young witnesses don't understand the questions they are asked under cross-examination so we believe a pre-recorded interview - with the help of an intermediary in appropriate cases- to be a much better option."
This is appalling. What she is saying that the age old TRIAL where someone can be cross examined to make sure that they are telling the truth is not as reliable as a SET PIECE interview which can be staged ( of course )......
Outrageous quote and shows how the "CHILD ABUSE" industry is not interested in the truth or whether there should be fair trials. They just want to WIN at ANY COST.
It is time that young children were BANNED from ADULT COURTS in the UK. If they are not old enough to be cross examined then sadly they should not be involved in the JUSTICE system - and the Prosecuting Authorities need to look at other evidence to convict - such as medical - DNA - CCTV - adult witnesses etc. If none of these exist then it is surely wrong to expect a set piece interview to be considered more reliable than a cross examination in a court. The JUDGE is there to ensure fair play and that the questions are fair and asked in a fair way....so if this is not possible according to the NSPCC then kids should not go to court. Simples/
