More lives ruined by a MASSIVE FALSE RAPE claim trial in READING ! 15 Years, 1 Month ago
Suprised that this has not made the national media.

www.getreading.co.uk/news/s/2071729_darl...agony_at_rape_claims

Once again the CPS has come in for massive criticism and Tens of thousands of pounds wasted on this case.

During the last week cases have been thrown out in Swansea Crown Court and Worcester Crown Court as well.

It seems that from 90% of sex assault cases getting convictions if they reached court that figure has now reversed because JURIES are beginning to use their common sense and not convicting if there is anything wrong with the allegers story.

It is better surely to give a not guilty verdict if the evidence is not there - than put someone in prison for what they may or may not have done.

It is time for cases only to go to court if they have REAL evidence of a a rape or assault.e.g DNA - CCTV - photos of the act(s) - witnesses to assaults/rapes. The idea that "one person's word" against another is enough is surely so 20th century.

The legal system could save MILLIONS of pounds if they only prosecuted cases where there was evidence. The courts would be freed up of time consuming cases where arguments take place over technicalities in the place of cross examination of evidence.

JK called it right when he said the FALSE ALLEGATIONS industry was about to explode.

In our NEW LABOUR society of spin - it is now fully acceptable to make up stories in order to gain either a) Compensation or b) Revenge on people that they dont like.

Hopefully the new Government will address the balance and throw out all cases that dont meet the highest level of evidence - the CPS is guilty of allowing people to carry out vendettas far too often.

With 60% of kids having sex before they are 16 it means that in 10 years time we could have an epidemic of "cases" - it is already becoming clear that "historic" means going back to your schooldays and if you get to 28 - 40 and have very little money all you have to do is remember your teenage conquests and decide if you want to take them to court KERCHING ! A nice little earner.

This whole "I had sex at School" and now want to benefit financially from that idea is totally ridiculous.

Schools should start teaching these new consequences of sexual experimentation before they are 16 years old.

Kids should be warned ( especially boys ) that any sexual contact they have under the age of 16 could be held against them in 10 - 20 or even 30 years time if the person decides at that point to go to the Police under current laws and they could face a 10 year or more prison sentence at a later point in their life.

The READING case and the DCI in the POLICE who has been charged with the same thing prove that this is REALLY happening in 2010.

Crazy and surely the GOVERNMENT should stop this and address the law to say that unless they come forward before 10 years after the event it should not go to court. Historic cases are notorious for being unfair to all involved. It is just an "earner" for the legal profession.
