What is amazing is that this guy was on BAIL and yet the POLICE did nothing - only asking the guy to keep a log.

Guess what - exactly the same advice whenever I have reported anything in the last 10 years to the Police.

They DONT WANT TO KNOW about real criminals. They look the other way - and in the case of CUMBRIA they actually did not intervene at all.

Can anyone suggest WHY we bother paying for the POLICE ? when they are so useless at fighting real crime ?

I'm at a loss, frankly at which is the most stupid - the story behind the story {which, as BR highlights, is one of complete incompetence on the part of the police} or the usual round of hysterical, braying "public opinion" expressed in the comments. They all appear to fail entirely to recognise that they themselves , along with their pointless and grunting expressions of outrage, are a major part of the original problem. Stupid police, stupid drug dealers, stupid journalism and stupid readers.
A depressing recipe.

The very LAST thing the police actually want is "no crime" .... just think of that lost overtime !
