Fascinating memoir excerpts in The Times; my one encounter with him was a few years ago after I had emerged from Her Majesty's Luxury Holiday Camp when I was sitting outside the Providores coffee shop in Marylebone High Street sipping a cappuccino and he was walking into the place; saw me; clearly recognized me as a "famous person"; put his "I'm a famous person too" welcoming smile on his face; then it dawned on him that recent events had made me notorious not famous; smile slid away as did his eyes; pretended he hadn't noticed me and walked into the cafe.
