TOPIC: Prisoners' Voting Rights
#67020
Prisoners' Voting Rights 14 Years, 6 Months ago
I just heard Ken Clarke being interrogated on the subject of his "controversial" decision to enforce the legal requirements of the European Court with regard to prisoners' voting rights.
After all this time... after all the flanneling and all the deliberate delaying tactics... this is still seen as some kind of nice point of law, and one to be challenged by anyone who feels like it. Why? The ruling is crystal clear. The right of prisoners to vote is framed and enshrined in law.
We are all familiar with people who make a conscious decision as to which laws they will comply with and which laws they won't. We call those people criminals.
