BBC 'ads' for the BBC really irritate me. They could probably make another programme with all that they spend on 'Here is the BBC' promos. It doesn't help that they're usually so painfully twee. It gets really bad every time a new Controller of BBC1 arrives - the first thing he or she seems to do is invest in some new 'idents'. Peter Salmon's hot air balloons were particularly silly, even if the hot air bit was apt. The hippo ones cost £1.2m.
