TOPIC: Leveson - Dacre today!
#80086
Leveson - Dacre today! 13 Years, 5 Months ago
Akers (cop in charge of Weeting and Elveden) gave the impression that The Sun has only just been examined (who bought and paid for my arrest story in 2000?) and that it's been looking at the Met rather than other forces. So far.

Nick Owens of Sunday Mirror - not impressive at all.

For some reason Dacre is not up on the Leveson site but you can see and hear him on the Guardian site (seemingly coming from ITN?).

Absolutely riveting watching Dacre. He's not coming across at all well.

Hearing Dacre justify the "fake firestorm" created by Twitter on the Jan Moir/Steven Gateley incident - made me wonder how he felt about the fake firestorm created by someone over the Jonathan Ross incident.

I think we may have been witnessing the end of the Dacre Mail.

Dacre is coming across like a cornered Baron Greenback. They're making mincemeat of him

He's been rude, truculent, defensive, irritable, unpleasant, cunning, aggressive - not done himself or the industry any favours at all.

The sheer contempt for Dacre in Lord Leveson's eyes is a picture! What an entertaining afternoon.

He really does epitomize his poisonous 'news'paper doesn't he, oozing hate and contempt from every pore! In comparison to snorting contempt displayed by Baron Dacre, the likes of McKuntzie, Morgans & McMullan come across as likeable honest men. Has there ever been a more unlikeable individual? It's obvious he has contempt for everyone - including his employees and his readership.

A quite extraordinary display by Dacre. I have to admit having much sympathy for the press and the media and believe much of this witch hunt is misplaced but Dacre did the media no favours and I suspect may shortly be leaving it.

Leveson bared his teeth and issued a veiled threat meaning, I suspect, that if Dacre does NOT return he will be arrested.
