The problem is how can you prove a rape. Would you expect video footage of the event, if so then the criminal has a free reign to commit all they like. Not just rape, but theft, assault, and murder.

I think you misunderstand my question re quotas.
Alot of people say the conviction rate is too low - hinting that the bar should be lowered (and therefor the standard of proof should be lowered) in order to increase this percentage.

I see it rather differently ... IF there is sufficient convincing evidence then a Jury WILL convict ... the fact that the percentage IS so low has much more to do with cases being prosecuted that should never be brought forward than anything else. A very very dangerous game !

Just because someone cries rape - does not mean it is rape (it could mean she changed her mind).

This is particularly so in historic cases. If someone had been raped I see no logical reason whatsoever to delay reporting the crime. In fact to do so will damage the chance of any possible conviction as any hope of recovering evidence will have disappeared. One wonder how often this is deliberate ????

I've been following your posts here for what must be several years now. I've always dismissed the jaw droppingly ignorant things you keep coming out with as being down to the fact (I supposed) that you were a spotty teenager straight out of school. Do you have any of these surveys to hand? I didn't think so. I think you'll find most women don't like been repressed. How would you like to live in a country where you're not allowed to drive?
