Roy Hodgson - new England Manager 13 Years, 2 Months ago
This now is highly likely - and will be announced later in the week.
Very experienced, having managed 16 teams in 8 countries, including 3 national sides; this is compared to Harry Redknapp (the other candidate) who has never managed abroad - or at international level - and has only won the FA Cup in 30 years as a manager.
Portsmouth won with Redknapp as manager - but at huge cost, having severe financial problems ever since.
Redknapp's tax related court appearances will not have helped his case - and neither will his insistance on living on the south coast and bringing a backroom entourage with him; Redknapp and his mates would entail England having to pay large compensation to Spurs.
Hodgson, on the other hand, will be out of contract from WBA in the summer, has no real entourage and lives near the new FA centre at Burton.

Germany ?
Italy ?

Spain ?[/quote]
What about the rest ITK ? Roy is a great choice I'm not a Fulham fan but delighted how far he took the underdogs to the Europa League. Liverpool treated him like shit and King Ken has been a disaster this season which I'm happy about.
Go on Roy you will do our country proud you saved WBA from a poor start and Fulham have been bad since you left.

Make way for this weeks top story! England has a new football manager!!!! How unashamedly self indulgent of the English media. Would the same frenzy be applied to Wales, Scotland or N. Ireland?

It no doubt would in their local press, and of course as with all sports the bigger the organization the more inches it warrants...both good and bad, true and false.
