I woke up today with Gary Glitter's "It Takes All Light Long" in my mind. I'd only heard it once and that was on TOTP last night, and it wasn't the last thing I heard .. so I guess the song has more staying power than I first thought.

I think you'll find it's all NIGHT PH (I don't remember it) but if it was, like the others, written by Mike Leander (who wrote Lady Godiva) I'm not surprised it's hooked you; Mike was a great writer. Check out his Bad Boy for Paul Jones.

Not his best work. The bbc seem to be warming to Mr Glitter. They are now showing him on totp re-runs and and the theme tune to Monday's Sounds of the Seventies is "I'm the leader".

PH Paul Jones tours intensely throughout the UK with Manfreds, Blues Band and on his own a great showman loves banter with the audience so why not look on www.ents24.com to catch him live. Also watch the film Privilege has a superb soundtrack as well to it, why because Mike Leander wrote it he was not a great songwriter he was a genius of a songwriter.

I first saw Manfreds live 10 years ago when I doing my GCSE's saw them again last year with Alan Price and Cliff Bennett and seeing Manfreds again this year.

"It Takes All Light Long" was the version put out by the famous Thawainese impressionist Glary Gritter.

Just noticed that Gary Glitter was on the original Jesus Christ Superstar recording

He was on TOTP again tonight (the edited version!!) with A Little Boogie Woogie (In The Back Of My Mind), a hit for Shakin' Stevens in 1987.
I prefer Shaky's version.
