A great classic story and movie - vastly under rated in my opinion. On Film 4.

I remember watching it with my family on Sunday's other Sunday family favorites was Journey To The Centre Of The Earth, Jason and the Argonauts, The Valley Of Gwangi and 20 Millions Miles To Earth then it was a bath then bedtime great times.

The Rod Taylor one (he's still with us - was Churchill in Inglourious Basterds)... a masterpiece, in my humble opinion.

Rod Taylor was probably the first Ozzy Hollywood film star. It's a shame though - he was hot property in the early 60's and after a few turkeys like Hotel and Zabriski Point went back to TV roles.
