Toscolano Maderno is a kinda small town with a friendly atmosphere .. and lots of yachts. I was only there for a weekend but I enjoyed it. It was sunny until the morning we left when the heavens opened. In some ways it's similar to the English Lakes District .. although generally warmer. Worth a visit if you are touring Italy.
