I suspect that even in death Jimmy may be helping society in that a huge amount of observers will agree with you Hedda; it doesn't take too many brain cells to know false accusers are never "afraid of exposing celebrities"... they adore the cash compensation, sympathy from the likes of the dreaded Esther, revenge on society that has let them down... and there will always be the people who can boost their careers by exposing abusers hiding beneath our beds.
"What is there to lose saying a dead person abused you?" is the carrot dangled before the noses of the tempted "victims". A great deal, is the answer in the real world, when Karma kicks in. I've watched quite amazing thunderbolts come crashing into false accusers and those who encourage them.

If the alleged victims in this upcoming documentary are lying,then who has put them up to it? Are you really suggesting that there is a huge conspiracy going on to create a media storm, the object of which is to make lots of money? Apparently the BBC's Newsnight show were going to run a story about it last year, but it got pulled at the last minute for reasons unknown. As for Esther Rantzen, we must not forget that she was a victim herself as a child, so it's very understandable why she takes a personal interest in these issues. You may think that she would be biased because of that, but don't forget she too worked at the BBC for decades and would have been privy to any gossip going around.
I'm still on the fence about this and I'll tell you why. Back in the 80s, I heard a story about JS from someone concerning the hospital where he did so much of his charity work. I just dismissed it as vile nonsense at the time because I could not believe anybody that well-known who worked in Children's TV could do such a thing. However, the person who told me was 100% convinced that it was true because it came from someone who worked there. So, as they say, the jury's out on this one...

So many people have been accused of this - Matthew Kelly, Dave Jones the football manager, yourself - so why didn't they accuse Savile of this when he was alive? Why didn't they go to the Police? Or Max Clifford?
A dead man tells no lies. And can't sue for libel. Particularly someone like JS.
Let me get this straight though, I didn't like him and I know from family in Leeds a lot of those who came across him didn't like him either, but to be disliked in public doesn't akin to being a molester of children. I'd probably suggest those real molesters are the quiet ones, getting on with their lives in responsible jobs like teaching, or in law, or in the Police.
Rantzen is a nutter and promotes the idiotic notion picked up by others JS was "protected by the BBC"..sheer cobblers as that alone would be enough to send the News Corp media into a feeding frenzy.

the warning signals are all there : the show claims the woman's tales are all 'similar' as though that's proof. It's the opposite.

nb : I had a pal who got a job at some sort of trade show taking polaroids of kids sitting on a police motorcycle (organised by The Met)..some would get so excited they would wet themselves..one mother accused him of something sinister when it happened and he walked off the job and never went back..petrified !!)
As well as the heinous Esther Rancid, another bitter old trout beloved of the trash media has reared her saggy bitter face - this time there's definitely a sense of the old 'deja vu'. Coleen Nolan has alleged something about Jimmy hugging her (or brushing against her fat arse or somthing) on Top Of The Pop before she hit that magic age... which is strange as she said exactly the same thing about Gary Glitter a few years back! She must have been some amazing "Perv Magnet" before she lost all her looks and piled on the pounds!
The last time my son saw Father Christmas was at a christmas dinner at his hospice. There, no kids sat on Santa, and he merely visited each child in turn given them a gift. With many children in wheelchairs or walkers, no doubt it was difficult practically, but I think it was a decision made so that no innuendo could be led to the poor guy in the suit.
My son loved it though, as did all the other children, so absolutely no harm done. In fact, I'd admit I was in tears during it, it was so lovely.
I heard tales about him as well..that he was taking a young blonde boy out and going to the gay club Bangs in the West End.
And then I spotted him one night with the young boy my pals swore was under aged..it was the singer Limahl who was about 20 who Paul was promoting but was yet unknown. Admittedly looked younger but oh so easy how rumours can start.
So fuck Paul Gambaccini for buying into the 'pedo rumour' piece. Bad karma.
JS did give a lot of people the creeps and we all heard the rumours, but we cannot say whether he was bad or not. He is dead and unable to fight his corner. Although lots of people like eccentrics, a lot don't and oddbods usually got bullied at school - it doesn't really change even when they get older.
I also do find Gambo's comments strange as I cannot believe that Fleet Street would suddenly be scared of publishing a story about JS because a hospital wouldn't get a new dialysis machine. Would they give a toss? Wouldn't it also obviously backfire on JS? And how did he know JS was playing off these papers improbably like Max Clifford, especially in old age? Was Gambo privvy to something the authorities should have known about?
