As a child of the seventies I loved Jimmy Savile and was shocked to hear about all
the abuse claims. Did he do it? I don't know and í'm trying to give him the benefit
of the doubt but have a listen to this audio and make your own minds. In particular
the bit that says "get off my backside".

Thank you for that TS - total proof of innocence, joking about with Mummy and Daddy there; exactly the kind of thing an over-the-top jokey uncle would do with a giggly niece I'd say. Tickling and playing; nothing sexual about it at all. Unless, of course, you regard it as absolute proof of perversion. Which is your prerogative. Like many things, it says much more about the listener than about the people speaking.

It certainly can be interpreted in so many ways as we have no idea
how he was "squashing" the girl. He could have been leaning on her
or lying on top of her, no one really knows. I can see both sides
of the coin here. What is disturbing are all those crawling out of the
woodwork to say they heard rumours and did nothing. Esther Rantzen in
particular. They should be arrested and questioned but there is no
chance of a criminal case and a man's reputation has been soiled forever.
Having said that, if the victims are telling the truth then one has
to feel sorrow for them and hope they can get closure. The programme
only leads to more questions imo. Also before anyone starts moralising
this was the 70s and the treatment of children was a lot different to
today. Do I have a case against my headmistress for beating me on my
bottom because I swore? Or how about the teacher who regularly cracked
our knuckles? Or what about the school that allowed the caretaker's dog
to bite a pupil. What I don't understand is why is Gary Glitter such
a demon and Pete Townshend a hero when they both were caught with child porn?

I can't tell if she's blubbing or laughing but quite honestly... I'm not sure invoking the name of Tony Blackburn is a suitable method to defer a rapist!!
