it's a typical mass hysteria type reaction.

Some people are more tactile than others. My Dad for instance was very tactile and hugged people (his kids) relatives and so on. My mother was the opposite and almost froze when one of her own children kissed her on the cheek in later life.

The opposite was her sister who had no children and adored big hugs from nieces/nephews no matter how young or old.

This sounds like this girl has transformed a tactile Savile into gropes in full view of an audience. Perhaps he was rubbing her arm in sympathy just as I did to an 80 year old woman- as is the wont of the very old to worry needlessly- the other day trying to soothe her nerves over a huge electricity bill, telling her everything would be OK.

Or perhaps Savile was groping he private parts..we will never know the truth but now they are talking about digging up his body for DNA !!!

perhaps they could put the body on trial !

This is an example of exactly what Moxon was talking about.

It's ironic because I remember watching 'El Dorado' (a massive bbc flop) and the main storyline during the brief time that it ran was of a 50 year old British businessman who had taken his 16 year old 'lolita' girlfriend with him to live in Spain.

Like Eastenders at the time, it chose to have a central group of young teenage characters (to target a teen audience), only as it was set in Spain, most of them were obliged to be filmed on the beach in skimpy bikinis, in particular one very stunning 14 year old Spanish girl obviously chosen for her looks and not her wooden acting skills (to target the millions of middle-aged men audience).

I even distinctly remember a tv reviewer of the time in one of the tabloids questioning whether all the young female flesh on display (the 14 and 16 year olds) would be enough to retain an audience in the absence of interesting plots or non-cardboard characters (and of course it wasn't, but the reviewer asked the question without any moral judgement).

Hark, it's Savile and Gambabandwagon in the same room not so long ago... and what a revelation from Sir Jimmy - he liked "girls". What a pervert!
