No, ITK - the stated reason was the London Olympics, which you enjoyed so much.

The article does not even mention the Olympics !

www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-19975719

IT DOES SAY -

The number of people in employment rose to a record of almost 30 million

A combination of more jobs being created and more people entering the workforce pushed the absolute number of people in employment to 29.6 million, the highest since these records began in 1971.

The percentage of people in work rose to 71.3%, the best rate since April 2009.

ITK sees the world through rose tinted specs (hopefully not Jimmy Savile's) and the complexities of today's manufactured economics are not to be questioned.

ITK is so in-denial - In The Krap.

He/she probably TRULY BELIEVES that hapless good Gordon Brown (not sub-prime Wall St & bent BIG-City) is the root cause of the whole world recession ongoing unchecked.

WTF ?

LoL.

HIGHEST number of people IN WORK since records began, veritas !

Of course, if you know of employers who are desperate for thickies, do let us know - we have a few around who "desperately" need work !

whoever poor old maligned Veritas is, he/she like the gorgeous Hedda is probably guilty as charged, for not reading your posts.

This reminds me of 2 MPs in Parliament who disliked each other intensley and one cried across the chamber "you have hated me the minute I walked into this chamber , why?"

To which the other replied "it saves time".

Just be careful, veritas - I may trick you !

I may one day post how wonderful the loony leadership (of Mr Millipede and Mr Balls-Up) is - and you, in a rush to contradict me, will say that they are rubbish.

I will then - for the first time ever - be able to point out how right you are !!!!

ITK - your post didn't refer to any article!

But I assume you've now seen the numerous ones (including today's) quoting the Olympic factor?
