The "loony left" never learn do they ? 12 Years, 8 Months ago
Low-paid workers workers at Derby City Council will see their minimum hourly wage increase by 2014.

Pay for about 1,000 employees will rise to a guaranteed £7.45 per hour as the council has committed to the living wage.

The council said the move would help its poorest employees survive "tough economic times".

Derby City Council is one of several Labour-run authorities to adopt the living wage policy

www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-derbyshire-20264650

... and who do they think will pay for this increase?
The tax payers of Derby, that's who !

Either local taxes will have to increase - OR some Council employees will lose their jobs.

I was in Derby yesterday, and saw Council funded (ie Council Tax payers funded !) posters advertising that "cuts" were the fault of the government, not the (loony) local Council.

How much did that (and similar) campaigns cost?
... and who do you think will pay for that waste of (public) money?

The whole world economy brought to it's knees, ongoing, unchecked, by the raving-Right/WRONG-uns.

They never learn, do they ?

And sadly nor do their very slow-learner fans, like - In The Krap.

Then you get what you vote for !

People have NEVER improved their quality of life under Labour - Labour just gets everyone into further debt and dependency.

In many ways they are like the Chinese communists - they want everyone to have the same house / wear the same clothes / work at the same factory / go to the same school etc.

We have had to call in the IMF (or some other bailout solution) every time Labour has been in power.

I post a classic example of a Council wasting YOUR money - and then you have the audacity to complain about the cuts !!!

You get what you vote for !

you must be talking about a different China !!

The big one below Russia has numerous classes including a middle class (richer than ours) who number nearly 100 million. Plus a ruling class and several peasant classes of varying wealth.

Shanghai rivals Paris and New York with hundreds of luxury apartment blocks and luxury stores full of the Chinese wealthy who drive Mercedes & BMWs.

Then there are the various provinces run by basically warlords who may have 50 to 100 million souls under their command with everything from very wealthy industrialists to peasant farmers.

Even the critics of the Communist Party politburo ponder how the country could be controlled under any other system, so entrenched it now is.

Nothing like your local council at all.

STILL not learning - In The Krap.

DEBT ?

National & International VAST DEBT, is the very unstable basis of the whole unedifying edifice of deregulated Fraud Market 19Hateys ongoing unchecked inhuman, uncaring unacceptable 'CANNIBAL' version, of agreeable ages-old market-place capitalism.

Today's 'Caveat Empore', is buyers/plebs/oiks beware, not of traditional small town mayors and marketplaces. BUT of global BIG-cities and multi-national corporate, spivs, thugs and robber-barons whose worldwide debts and money (other peoples') never sleeps.

Local, yokel, shmokel !

Catch up on BIG-BIZ "Wall Street - Greed Is God", 1987, and "Wall Street - Money Never Sleeps", 2010.

Boom, Boom !!

The similarities are stronger than you think !

All the leaders have nice shiny suits and ride round in BMWs (just like in African despotic countries).

Here ...under the last Labour government, child poverty went UP - but the leader (Mr B-Liar) left office a multi-millionaire !

Still, Hedda - you can always move to Greece ... you'll like it there !
All those loony policies !

Teachers pay CUT 40%
All benefits CUT
All Pensions CUT

Thats what happens when you let the bailiffs get to the door (and proclaims that you will STILL vote for the loonies who controlled the budget for 18 years and got us into this mess)!

Of course (for all you with highly selective memories !!!)

"Harold Wilson was warned in 1975 that Britain's economy faced "possible wholesale domestic liquidation", newly released Cabinet papers reveal.

One minister told the Labour prime minister there could be constitutional crisis if inflation continued to rise.

Documents at The National Archives show concerns a year before an International Monetary Fund loan was requested.

news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/4553464.stm

.... and of course swift and prompt action - by our Coalition - staved off a monetary crisis brought on by the LAST LABOUR INCOMPETENT government, which lead to the currents cuts.

I once worked for a Tory run local authority.

Councillors who wanted the latest laptops, tablets, iPads, printers etc on a near six monthly basis - whilst also keeping their old equipment 'to use in case of breakdowns'. Some councillors were found to have NEVER used their equipment after four years, as the equipment was found to be in 'as given' condition.
A CEO of said council who also wanted the latest gadgets simply because he was in the power to do so.
....Whilst all this was going on, people actually doing REAL work were denied simple pay rises and many were given redundancy.

They are all at it ITK. Left, right, you need to get out of the lie that there is really any difference between the two. There are just as many 'millionaire socialists' are there are Tories.

I've got to say under John Major's Tory administration I went to University where my fees were paid and got a council student grant too.

4 years later Tony Blair took all that away in a puff of magic.

Maybe it was because Major's lot were more compassionate Tories than the right wing Labour Party and certainly the very nasty Cameron Tories, who seem to think it's ok to attack the unwell and ill and yet the big corporate conglomerates are let off with paying their fair share of tax....

I started this thread with evidence ... evidence of waste of taxpayers money.

There IS a difference ... Coalition councils are saving money whilest loony Labour ones continue to waste it.

Labour would sooner spend money telling you why they are cutting services (and hinting it would not be happening under them) - rather than using that money to maintain services.

Unfortunately the stupid will fall for it (again !)

I know another (loony) Council than wanted to scrap a £1 million budget for youth clubs and maintain its £2 million publicity budget ... The LibDems forced them to cut the publicity budget down to £1 million (and thats still a waste !!!) and use the £1 million saved to maintain all youth clubs.

How will Labour save us from a Greek-style meltdown?
Dont expect Mr Balls-Up of Mr Silliband to explain ... they have not one single policy at all - save from borrowing more money !

In 1997 Labour inherited a budget that was actually in balance.

Under the Tories the public finances had finally been brought under control.

But after four years in office Gordon Brown took out the country's credit card and let rip. By the end of 2009-10 our annual deficit had ballooned to £170.8 billion.

===

Greek austerity (and bankruptcy) here we come - (Thank Goid for the Coalition) !!!!!!!!!!

What plain oiks like In The Krap, and a last few fervent fans of Right-wing/WRONG-uns, STILL can't see.

Is that voting for such BIG Robber-Barons, Spivs & Thugs, just encourages their further criminal, immoral, mass exploitation of humanity.

To actually BE in the BIG Spivs & Thugs Club, plain oiks like In The Krap would need to be, not on 100K a year, BUT on 10K a MINUTE !

OK ?

Every time ITK?
The mid 70s was only one Labour government....would you like me to remind you of all the other ones? The roaring 20s perhaps,Clem in the forties? The white heat of technology of the two 60s ones...and the rest....so come on,prove your point,or admit it was wrong.
