No snow down here in London anyway. And not even that cold.

No sign of it here in Nottingham either. Apparently we're in for a couple of coldish nights (in December?? Who'd have thought!) and then it's going to be mild and wet again by the end of the week.

But the media do like to act like drama queens where the weather's concerned.

What happened to The Beast ?

The wind changed direction LOL !

Actually, JK, the Beast caused untold damage throughout Europe, closing several airports and dropping huge amounts of snow (even in areas where they are used to large amounts of snow).

4 dead in Croatia, and 2 dead in Serbia apparently.

and the Met Office STILL has a cold weather alert -

Current alert level: Level 3 - Cold Weather Action

Issued at: 0826 on Mon 10 Dec 2012

There is a 90% probability of severe cold weather/icy conditions/heavy snow between 0900 on Monday and 1500 on Thursday in parts of England. This weather could increase the health risks to vulnerable patients and disrupt the delivery of services. Please refer to the national Cold Weather Plan and your Trust's emergency plan for appropriate preventive action.

Showers will move across eastern England today, most frequent and heaviest along the coast, but possibly wintry inland. Overnight many areas away from the east coast will have a sharp frost, with perhaps patchy freezing fog forming in the west. Any freezing fog could be slow to clear tomorrow, and also Wednesday, leaving to a very cold day in many places. Even where long sunny periods occur Tuesday and Wednesday it will be cold or very cold. During Tuesday the showers in the east gradually die away, leaving the rest of the period mainly dry.

Another false alarm.

The Daily Express (in its small/mediocre/current format) has little other news.

Warm (9c) in Newcastle @ 22.00 - 10/12/12
