Unemployment - Biggest DROP in 11 years ! 12 Years, 7 Months ago
Proving that this Coalition government is on the right track in building the economy after loony Labour's years of abuse and mis-management.

Compare the biggest drop in 11 years - to the raging unemployment of loony borrow-now-pay-never la-la-Euroland (25% in Spain, and rising) and raging inflation.

Hedda knows the REAL stats.

Short term, low-pay McJobs, aren't 'employment'.

Depending on HOW it's measured, the unemployment rate is open to BIG rigging.

Such as loosening labour restrictions, with very dubious long-term effects for a country and its workers.

sure do. Coming calamity : The 'Right To Work " scam in the USA will spread from state to state and eventually drive wages down to unlivable level for a significant proportion of US workers. They will stop spending...it spirals out of control...property prices plunge..what industry left in US crashes...

end of life as we know it. For ITK as well.

Typical of the no-policy / no idea loonies !

They criticise and bleat "there are no jobs" - but when 82,000 people ALL manage to find jobs they change the argument !

The ARE jobs out there - for those who want them (and are capable of doing them).

Thickies not required !

No ITK. Foreigners preferred. Immigrants to the UK are preferred by a lot of companies.

I was once told by an employer "We usually employ Polish workers, you'd be out of place, here". That is the truth.

Just as a matter of interest, what was the job you were going for?

You will have to explain these terms to me.

What is the "work programme"?
If people are part of some training then they are not looking for work, are they?

What are "people sanctioned" ? Is it perhaps people who have had their benefit stopped because they have failed to look for work?
In which case they should not be part of the stats should they? - as they are obviously not intending to be a "job seeker" !

Surely "people waiting to be processed" will send the stats up, once their claim has been approved?

I fear that the numbers have been 'cooked' but i wish it were true.

Those of us who really understand Capitalism know that wealth is created by customers (not the rich) and the more people working with disposable income the more wealth is created.

customers support the whinging scrounging wealthy.

Yes they are looking for work. That's the whole point of the Work Programme.

This is a major government initiative. For someone who purports to know so much about 'dolers' and unemployment I'm genuinely surprised you haven't heard of it.

Ahh .. THAT work programme ... the one where we only pay firms IF they find these no-hopers a job? AND we save paying out benefit too?

All in favour of it !

What I meant was we dont pay the firm that searches for a job UNTIL they find a job and THEN we can stop paying benefit.

Win / Win

(*and in the meantime the dolers have to get out of bed - so many as well find a job for themselves !)

The number of people finding work as a result of being on the Work Programme is actually smaller than the number who would have found work on their own anyway. How is that win/win?

The offices of Ingeus, A4E and other providers of the programme are full of people genuinely looking for work and advisers doing their best to help them, but the programme itself makes no difference and is a huge waste of money.

But it's not OUR waste of money !!!!

The firm don't get paid until they get a job (and with that shower that's nigh on impossible !)

In the meantime the dolers are not in bed - or watching Jeremy Kyle !
