Further total insanity in America. Just as I've said earlier about the nurse who killed herself after media teasing, indication that the species is losing it.

And I blame the media (we're all in it - I've been in it for 50 years but with Twitter/Facebook/You Tube, everyone can join).

The values set by the media are wrong. The prime rule - IS IT A GOOD STORY? - defies responsibility and encourages madness where fame, even posthumous, is worth more than life.

Perhaps my call could establish whether someone from the Palace press office had, in fact, complained furiously about the nurse allowing the hoax callers to get through, and whether that royal fury might have further increased the pressure that Jacintha Saldanha was already feeling. Because, at the moment, there’s something about this deeply sad story that just doesn’t ring true.

an incident like that would mean a formal inquiry in a hospital. she would have faced being (unfairly) disciplined.

It's all very sad but disciplining (fair or unfair), media mocking... are these reasons to deprive children of a mother and a man of his wife?

Values topsy turvy. Like the loony who killed children at the school.

And it's the media - in my opinion - who is responsible. We have fallen for the image it's created.

Since WW2, many times more such random-crazy gun deaths.
Behind a thin mask of so called 'civility' they promote division, exploit humanity, humiliate and alienate individuals including their own young, and then wonder why they breed anger, contempt and hatred.

To quote... " A few more innocent children dead ? A price well worth paying ! "
