Naturally the Weinstein Company and Michael Moore have two different opinions on the subject. "A Weinstein Co. source said the company has already hired several firms who specialize in dealing with piracy and are taking 'a very aggressive approach to protecting the film.'" That sounds vaguely like the Weinsteins have hired contract killers.

Michael Moore, on the other hand, when discussing Fahrenheit 9/11 in 2004 said, "I don't agree with the copyright laws and I don't have a problem with people downloading the movie and sharing it with people as long as they're not trying to make a profit off my labour. I would oppose that… I do well enough already and I made this film because I want the world to change. The more people who see it the better, so I'm happy this is happening."

One cannot moderate speculatively. I'm pretty sure I could write loads of truly outrageous stuff here that some people might like. Seeking to remain "uncut" {your word, my parenthesis} on the grounds that "others, like Hedda, might like" what you have to say would suggest that you have learned little about responsible communication of ideas. Those dear chaps in the print media would have loved it had you been examining their culture, practices and ethics rather than Leveson. I'm sure that, say, "The Sun" would have loved to be able to present as valid the claim that "some of our readers would like to read what was in Millie Dowler's phone logs" as justification for its hacking. But you can't just say what you like in a civilised world. You need to learn that sometimes the conduit through which you have decided to voice your opinion might just be staffed with people offended enough by what you have said to refuse to give it the airing you feel it deserves. I agree wholeheartedly with freedom of speech. But the internet is awash with people who - given its relative anonymity - suddenly become brave enough to say things that would get their lights punched out if said in public. It's probably not censorship, it's probably just sensitivity toward other peoples' feelings. True, ITK is at times a complete toad. And some of his opinions and choices of words make for angry moments. But the decision to publish {or not} is always with the mod or board keeper. If you'd like to be one of those yourself, start you own board. There you can gargle away to yourself without the irritating constraint of third-party moderation.

Wrong again. We usually simply delete offensive or abusive posts and rarely, if ever, need to edit. Apart from anything else, we don't have the time. Editing to make it comprehensible is exhausting. I've never really been a victim of right or left wing media, if that's what you mean. They simply behaved as expected when the police set me up for a high profile conviction. I never blamed the media for any of their coverage. Leopards don't change their spots; capture them, feed them, train them.
