Filmed on 26th July 2006 apparently; was he there or did he pre record his links? Show was aired 30th July. Have we simply got muddled that he WAS there for the filming but it was not transmitted live? Or did he pre record his links? Google may be our friend but solid facts please.

I've being reading into the ins & outs of it. Clips on YouTube, show him alongside Mike Read, Janice Long & Reggie Yates (who he?). So, he must've done it with them.

There is a small crowd of an audience (but very small). I certainly remember an article in 2006, saying that his links were not live, due to a prior engagement.

The BBC report says "All the presenters links were recorded & stock footage was used for the groups. With the groups performances, being inserted for broadcast on the Sunday".

So, looks like they recorded the links, with no groups at the recording. Hence why there was such a small audience. Couldn't of taken more than 10 minutes to record presenters links. Chris suggests that a cameraman said "Jimmy was quite frail in the recording & had to be helped on stage".

Savile presented the show with the other presenters and there was a live studio audience.
All fully in view of whoever watched it.
I read that he allegedly abused someone LIVE ON THE SHOW. Sorry but i've watched these edition more than once
and apart from blowing into Janice Long's ear (which was just messing about), nothing odd happened.

I have no idea about the other stuff but on this particular occasion, nothing happened at least live on tv.
And by then the audience were made of fans and bbc employees, no groupies or teenagers.

So for yewtree to say that he abused someone on the last episode of TOTP in 2006 is a bit strange.

Unless they were a bit short of cash!

I'd imagine the 'audience' were either BBC junior employees or their friends, or both. At the time the BBC was pretty much like this, less so now after the phone competition 'issues'.
