Lottery tickets to cost DOUBLE 12 Years, 6 Months ago

I've always thought that Lottery tickets - taxation for the stupid - were a good idea ... getting others to fund things so taxpayers didn't have to.

As most of the money goes to spurius "good causes" (ie the Olympics !) its better that gullible people pay for these things.

After all - if people want to queue-up to pay extra tax, why should I complain?

There are winners (go and tell them how foolish they were), so it's not that stupid a gamble for a couple of quid. I don't know why some get so tetchy about it.
