brought on by an incident a few nights ago. At a dinner party- a long time acquaintance..very left wing hackette..launched into the 'pedo' rant and blathered on about a well known deceased politician and the lives 'they had ruined'.

I was bored stiff and needed to make an exit to keep a late night date..words were exchanged and I did my best impression of Rumpole..rule of law..innocent unless proven...etc etc..and swished out the room and house vowing never to speak to the hag again.

(Sadly this particular host does the most sensational champagne and chocolate sorbet which I missed).

But it's always the left who are the most rampant in these matters..evidenced as when JK says The Guardian was the worst...Nuu Labour have passed the most repressive laws about everything especially 'sex offenders'.....

Odd..my very best friends are all conservatives !!! (although I draw the line at ITK ! )

I have to be a bit extreme, Hedda, to sow the seeds for the party.

You see when I say "all dolers should be shot", you are horrified - but when the party says thats too much and we should just deport them all to Australia instead (where we used to send all the rubbish years ago!) you think thats much more moderate LOL !

I note that the dole in Australia is now the highest in the world (bar Switzerland) so maybe your dolers riot in the hope of being transported !

..but of course being uneducated and not knowing history they don't realise convicts are no longer sent abroad.

We've had this discussion before ... without knowing the FULL details (such as how long claims are for etc) you cannot make such a sweeping claim.
