Am I right in thinking the trawl involved with this care home involved a disgraced solicitor who had been targetting his trawling at prison magazines?

The key sentence here is this one -

Mr Andrews said: "It seems to me that financial interests have taken primacy over justice because of the civil claim, which they feel is more important than the criminal case.

as a point of law : in the Julian Assange alleged sex assaults one of the great criticisms amongst legal circles in Sweden (and the UK) was the fact the alleged victims hired the same lawyer which is unprecedented in Sweden and certainly wouldn't happen in the USA in criminal cases for obvious reasons : cross contamination of evidence.

It is absolutely extraordinary that one lawyer should be acting for 205 alleged victims : if one were to lose all the cases could be thrown out yet if they cannot try all 205 in the same trial.

honestly, Britain is getting more batty by the day.
