Promised to bring back the 10p tax rate?

Even Gordon Brown could see (through his glass eye !) that this was no good - so he scrapped it !

But when is a Labour "promise" ... a "promise" ??

a tax on investment properties that have turned the UK into a nation of small property developers pumped up by an artificial housing boom and paid for by...ITK and me !!

Why not?..get back some of that housing benefit paid out to private landlords ITK..how could you possibly object ??

Because it will (like most loony policies) achieve nothing !
Admin will cost more than it collects.

This is just an increasingly desperate loony Labour leadership trying to re-invest a policy which THEY dumped (both were in Browns government when it was scrapped) in order to appeal to the thickies.

If you are serious about helping poorer families pay tax (as the LibDem,s have achieved lifting millions out of tax althogether) then the best way is simply to raise the personal tax allowance.

Meanwhile, the Sunday Times report on the same story reveals that the Lib Dem business secretary Vince Cable is "said to be privately delighted that Labour has come up with the tax policy as it will put pressure on the Conservatives to give in to Lib Dem demands to adopt it."
