A message to the BBC ..... 12 Years, 4 Months ago
Oscar Pitsorius

"The whole world has been gripped by the story" said the BBC announcer.
I have news for you - No, it hasn't !

You may be obsessed with the story, and so may other media outlets, but in the last 8 days only 2 or 3 people have even mentioned it to me, and that was to complain about the endless coverage !

Most people are doing what they did with the Olympics - trying to avoid it !!!

Are there NO other worthy stories in the world? The shootings in Las Vegas not worth a mention? Or what about the Derby couple accused of frying their six children alive? - is that not news? The slaughter in Syria? Nuclear tests in North Korea?

This is, after all only a bail hearing - not the actual trial !

Or perhaps you are being overly PC? As this is the ONLY story in the world that involves a Parlympian does that overrule EVERY other story in the world?

Ive still not heard whether he has bail or not - even though your programme has gone on about it now for the last 45 minutes ... but personally I hope he doesnt get bail, because if he does, and does anything - like farts - you may have to devote an entire channel to reporting it !!!!!!

It took almost 2 effing hours to deliver the verdict - bail or not - did BBC cover it all that time? (they certainly did for the first 45 minutes)

I'd switched-on to see the weather forecast at 12 25 and they were still going on about it at 1 15 AFTER I had posted above !

Indeed I do ... TV viewing is actually relatively small in this household (compared to others) - so I dont expect my time wasted by something that deserves no more than one column inch on page 20 !

a friend who did listen to the full statement says it was quite fascinating as the judge picked apart the prosecution case.

PS : that thing in the wall called a window..if you go over and look out and up you can quite often see what the weather is like.

One of the first things the BBC needs to do is to get rid of Tim Davie. I saw him in action recently and he was atrocious. The fact a dullard like him to get to occupy the role he does, even briefly, is a shocking indictment of how the corporation has functioned in recent years. He maybe has just enough brain cells to make the tea each morning. The BBC needs programme makers back in executive positions; it needs to re-establish trust and creative freedom; and it needs to bite back at all of those who are working so hard to bring it down. No more self-flagellation, no more Uriah Heep meek apologies, no more fear.

Right on, Pru !

Time to get rid of the managers / administrators etc ... and employ journalists and creative programme makers.

When the Beeb is at its best ... it IS the best !

Good Grief !

It now turns out that Pistorious' brother is ALSO facing a murder charge !

BUT ... this happened in 2010 and has not (apparently) even been worthy of a mention thus far ... but now that everything Pistorious must be broadcast I expect an announcement soon about what he is having for his tea !

Isn't murdering someone in South Africa the equivalent to taking to taking the dog for a walk in the UK (ie something that happens so regularly people don't even think about it)?
