Given her history surely the police had a duty to investigate the claim before dragging an innocent man into custody for questioning?

I found her mitigating circumstances interesting.

From the Telegraph....QUOTE
Megan Topliss, defending, said her client had endured a disturbed childhood and had been left traumatised after being taken into care.
END QUOTE.

Which might explain some other cases?

Thats an odd surname 'topliss', lol

Yes, unless the alleged perpetrators are all connected in some way, i'm always highly suspicious of woman who claim to have been raped 'loads of times' - I always think (although perhaps i'm just very lucky or not an obvious target) - funny how it's never once happened to me...
