Watching the Pope say goodbye... 12 Years, 4 Months ago
I see that he's adopted exactly the same spectacles as I have recently taken to wearing. I'm proud and rather humble to have influenced his taste in eyewear.

He should have done a rock-style farewell: G'night Rome, you've been great, I luv ya!' Then come back out with a damp towel round his neck and taken mass all over again. Then Jazz Odyssey.

The local trattoria in Rome has now named a special breakfast dish in his honour: the Ex-Benedict.

Ben 9

Re:Watching the Pope say goodbye... 12 Years, 4 Months ago
Another Ben (16) - but one who will be instantly forgotten; as he did nothing. But, how could anyone - when they get a big job at 78?! In charge of 1,600, 000, 000 people. The average age of the favourites to replace him is 73.

But, the stories in Vatican City are now coming out of the woodwork together with more stories of abuse by catholic priests in almost every country - unprecedented even in wartime. And Ben 16 might just be back soon to answer a few questions that he has avoided.

BTW, the goodbye will be from the Pope, not the emeritus one.
