Lunch with two of my favourite ladies 12 Years, 4 Months ago
Lynn Barber (best interviewer in Britain) and Annie Robinson (very bright, witty, informed and attractive). Thoroughly enjoyable two hours.

And in other news: Nerys Hughes, the much-loved star of The Liver Birds, bumped into me at my local branch of Gregg's, buying three sausage rolls (hot) and one vanilla slice, and said that I was a "poppet". Later that same day, I received a very pleasant postcard from Gloria Hunniford, the world's smallest woman, telling me that I was brilliant. I replied by recording a special version of "She" on my digital voice recorder, and sent it to her via email, which took ages due to the very high quality of the audio file. Then it was on to tea at Fortnum's Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon, where the evergreen actress Nanette Newman was waiting for me with a croque monsieur called Bryan. She confided to me that I was a genius! All in all it was a typically lovely day for me, and HUGELY enjoyable to have met a few of my super friends! The only irritation came in the evening, when I read Piers Morgan's outrageously self-admiring column in the Mail on Sunday. It was just a list of semi-famous people saying how great each other were! What rubbish!

So poor Lynn isn't attractive, then? And I bet she had to do all the drinking, too!
