Irrational dislikes 12 Years, 4 Months ago
We all have them, no rhyme or reason to do so, but we just can't stand certain things.

The one thing we are all now suffering big style is dislike (i won't use the word hate) of people we have and probably will never ever meet face to face for a discussion, which is the only way to decided if you actually like someone or not..............so I go on with a list of my names

- Johnathan Ross
- Russel Brand
- Ricky Gervaise (but not sidekick, Steven Merchant)
- Paloma Faith
- Nigella Lawson
- Nigel Slater
- Katie Price
- Jedwood

Conversly, I like people on TV who I am also never likely to meet, who might be real c*cks in real life, but I have a different opinion of

- Clarkson
- Fry
- James May
- Danny Baker

Just making the point that impressions and personality projection is an odd thing. Marmite style reactions to something that isn't real....probably says more about me than the pioint i'm trying to make

I don't think many of those are irrational dislikes - there are surely plenty of good reasons for why most of them are ghastly!

I can't stand Jonathan Ross because he went from being an amiable fan/presenter to thinking he was a comedian in his own right.

Two people who often pop up reviewing the papers on Sky News drive me crazy: one is James Max - a ludicrous character who specialises in raging at all things BBC in spite of the fact he owes his media career to appearing in the BBC's Apprentice show - and Owen Jones - a horrible little Fred Kite type whose arrogance is only rivalled by his stupid 1970s-style politics and his inability to shut up.

Claudia Winkleman - she must be blackmailing several TV executives, that's surely the only reason this short, stooping, squinting, panda-eyed, germolene-lipped, gurning gargoyle keeps getting jobs (Film critic? Really?? Radio arts show host? Ye gods! 'Hilarious' Strictly host? Do me a favour!). She reminds me of that horrible red-hooded dwarf who stabs Donald Sutherland at the end of Don't Look Now. Only less endearing.

Alan Yentob - he appears to think shapeless potato sacks must be stylish jackets if someone has sewn 'Armani' into the lining, and he actually believes he's photogenic as well as entertaining on screen. Get thee back to the backrooom!

Mark Kermode - pompous ass who needs to get a sense of perspective. You just watch lots of films, you preening twerp!

Ronnie Corbett - somehow this incredibly bad-tempered and bad-mannered little tit has inherited Ronnie Barker's hard-earned status as a national treasure. He's nothing of the sort - he's just a nasty midget, hopelessly unfunny and a terrible golf bore.

Nick Knowles - What the hell does he do? What's his talent? He's on TV all the time, looking peed off, without any purpose.

About 20 'celebs' mentioned - never heard of most: Why are people so concerned about media people, when holding down a job and living a life is so difficult these days?

Well it would hardly be interesting to mention "that bloke who lives around the corner and sniffs" would it? I think most people will have heard of the people mentioned.

I cant bear Katherine Jenkins, even though she seems perfectly pleasant. *shudders*

Heddas likes / dislikes compared to mine probably explain why I disagree with virtually every post made by them

And isn't that the beauty of the internet? Different opinions. But surely there cannot be one viewer in the Universe who understands why Nick Knowles is on TV?

I bet Knowles really stinks out the toilet. There's just something about him that says, 'I'd leave it a bit if i were you'.

Commercial TV stations online - the iPlayer equivalents - won't allow you to speed through the commercial breaks. Infuriating. Enough to get us viewers making lists of products we shall now NEVER BUY AGAIN.

Cashback at the till !!!!!!!!!!! when its taken a long time to scan the trolley of the person in front, they can't find their purse / wallet, when they do it is a card not cash and then they procede to ask for cash back when there is a perfectly serviceable cash point outside the shop

Aghhhhhhhhh.............using the till as a cashpoint ????

Internet pages sometimes now have little video boxes tucked away at the side that suddenly start playing ads at maximum volume whilst you're reading some news or an interview. It's MADDENING as much for the shock as for the intrusion.

Rolling news presenters now seem to think I care about their opinions. I don't. A pair on BBC news the other day discussed if they were Beatles fans or Stones fans. I don't care!!! The same with weather forecasters - I couldn't care less what kind of weather YOU like or dislike, just give the forecast and shut up!

Owen Jones - thank you, poster above, for mentioning this irritating munchkin. He should be banned from public life.

People on quiz shows who, when asked about a film or song released prior to about 1990, moan: 'Aw, that was before my time!' Do they say the same when asked about the English Civil Wars or the novels of Charles Dickens? What idiots!

Carole Malone - an absurd Georide tabloid hack with cheap hair extensions and a laughable attempt at a 'posh' accent who keeps turning up to be Sky's resident Glenda Slagg on their late night news reviews.

Casualty - Saturday night entertainment? Casualty?? It ruins the evening.

Nasty and sad little wimps who react to isolated mild criticism on the internet by organising lynch mobs and trying to invade someone else's privacy.

I don't think any of my strong dislikes are irrational:

Intellectual Dishonesty
Mark Williams-Thomas
99% of politicians
ITV
Modern-day policing
Commercial Radio
Modern-day News Presenters
Esther Rantzen
Alexandra Burke
Dub-Step cover versions
The X-Factor
95% of all modern television
Idiots who don't think about what it is they are doing or saying.

The nation is united in irritation at Nick Knowles. Even his name annoys me. I think for the sake of harmony it should be Nick Nowles or Knick Knowles.

I detest the Olympic games makers.
Such a lot of them bleat on about how heroic they are.
I want to yell at them that "IT REALLY ISN'T A BIG DEAL" and point out that the country is full of volunteers who are dealing with distressing and dangerous situations without personal gain, and its a far cry from giving directions to a seat and seeing an Olympic sport for free.
Thank goodness the petition for honours failed. epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/38049

You clearly think you're above this sort of chatter, even though, in spite of that, you still can't seem to resist sticking your snout into the discussion. So: job done, twice, now why don't you move on to that incredibly worthy discussion you obviously wish to dominate?
