wonderful anniversary 12 Years, 4 Months ago
80 years since the great US president FDR introduced the New Deal...a Socialist program that introduced (contrary to popular opinion) the best welfare benefits on the planet.

as a result... Unemployment dropped by 40% in FDR's first term and GDP grew at 8%+ per year.

The USA became the wealthiest country on the planet.

and still they say socialism doesn't work

Remember signing on after 6 months thrown on to New Deal boring courses, long days of work experience promised a job at the end of it never happened but giving a half price rail card was always handy.

I disagree.

when you have a system where taxes are paid to be spent on benefiting the whole of society it's socialism.

all there is from then on is varying degrees.
