economics lesson for ITK 12 Years, 4 Months ago
which country has the most enviable economy in the world ?
has created nearly a million jobs in 5 years ?
has created 70,000 jobs just last month ?
best interest rates for savers and lowest rate for mortgages ?
lowest inflation rate on the planet ?
amazing social security benefits ?
toughest rules for banks so none go broke and still make huge profits ?
survived the great '07 meltdown by giving every 'doler' $1500 urging them to spend spend spend ?
spent billions building new schools and giving grants for home insulations and thus saved the building industry ?

Australia of course run by a bunch of left wingers...Welsh working class PM Julia Gillard...former surfer Wayne Swann ( Euromoney Magazine 'best treasurer in the world') former Midnight Oil's frontman Peter Garrett.. etc etc...

meanwhile Communist China to become the greatest powerhouse on the planet this century...

Viva Le Socialism !
Viva La Gillard !
Viva Le Chavez !
Viva Le Hedda !

The tide has already turned !
250,000 manufacturing jobs switched back to the USA recently because of high wage costs in China - plus increased energy and transport costs.

(The US unions slashing wages helped too !)

Jesus Christ...if US wages are lower than China no wonder people need 3 jobs to survive.

Meanwhile Julia Gillard will enshrine in law overtime, penalty rates and holiday pay

I really do hate to agree with ITK here, but think you'll find it's a mix of plentiful natural resources, coupled with a sound previous economic policy allowing them to do this.
Reality in all things,a look at Thailand would be interesting for both of you, natural balance is essential.

difficult to compare Thailand with the West except their attempt at creating a property boom was a disaster.

As Dubai's will be eventually.

Jobs have increased in the USA for 29 months in a row now, hedda.

The austerity plan is clearly working, and now Obama doesnt have to face election again he can turn the screw even harder.
