The "ordinaries" are up in arms. Published in the nastiest - but also the best - paper in Britain; the Mail.

When they see a good story they print it, even if it's 100% opposed to their gut feeling.

It seems to me very unkind to damage the reputations of people who are (I think, apart from Finney)dead and can not comment, and to distress their families.

Good point Honey but her article is quite fondly tolerant of such behaviour and her point is that most older men behaved this way; flirting either slightly or more forcefully - natural and easily rejected polite advances.

Times change and it is absurd, expensive and unfair to judge yesterday's morality by today's standards.

great piece.

JK is correct and trying to judge the past by today's standards is madness and has become a free for all charter for the nutters and greedy.

Indeed. It happened all the time,It was no big deal.
My mother taught me how to brush them aside gently and I have instructed my own daughter to do the same.
This is why I just cant understand how the Dave Lee Travis complaint (that he grabbed someone's breasts while she was reading the news) came about.
If the presenter didn't like it why on earth didn't she say so? Even on air.
Some women chose to be mauled by men to further their career. (so did young men)and if they agree to put career before dignity it is not assault.
I think perhaps compensation should be in the form of counselling or other therapy rather than cash.

Absolutely, although I dont remember anyone actually encouraging old men to kiss them etc. I think Petronella was alone there. (Trollop )
