The reality is, of course, they can pass any laws they want, set up any Royal Charter but, in the end (and actually virtually at the start) we in the media will find a way to do exactly what we want. Just as I - being very aware of the traditional media attitude - instantly became an online person, self published, making my own films (with hundreds of thousands views), Twitter, Facebook, iPads, iPhones, iTunes...

Plus of course - good journalists don't need regulating as they have pride in their work, but of course all the best journalists now are either freelance or bloggers. Those on the books of the mainstream "news"papers are slaves to their publications - and their idiot readership.
