There is a "backlash" (according to the Mail !) to plans to give a childcare allowance to working mothers. Those mothers who DONT work now say they want it ! I dont know why we subsidise child care at all. Why cant people pay for their own children if they prefer to leave them in the care of a bored teenager all day?

I am sure we can find a way to do it without giving benefits to couples who earn three hundred thousand pounds between them.
In any case, if we are going to pay for it wouldn't it be cheaper to have state run free childcare?
