Paedo Ring in Albert Square 12 Years, 3 Months ago
www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/48568...es-investigated.html

PAEDOPHILES working on EastEnders preyed on under-age fans who hung around the set hoping for autographs, police believe.

A team of officers are investigating a group of “mature adults” thought to have been employed by the BBC soap in the 1980s and ’90s. It is believed parts of the EastEnders set in Elstree, Herts, have been searched. Officers have also visited cheap hotels near the sprawling film studios, where EastEnders has been filmed since it began in 1985. The movements of people connected with the show over a period of 20 years in various capacities have been monitored.

An insider said: “Arrests are very likely. This is bigger than anyone imagined.”

A six-member Special Operations unit has been set up to work full-time on the investigation — an indicator of the serious nature of the claims. The officers have been seconded from Child Protection units at Scotland Yard and Herts Police.

The insider added: “A lot of work has been done over the last few months.

“In today’s cash-strapped times, police only launch Special Ops units if they have enough evidence in the first place.

“A six-strong team is significant and shows how seriously senior officers are taking this.

“Top police bosses have been shocked at what they have unearthed so far and are determined to finish the job.”

It is not alleged that senior production staff or cast members, either past or present, are suspects or knew of illegal activities. And those working on recent series are not under suspicion. The inquiry has allegedly uncovered a former worker who is believed to have been dealing drugs on set. Sources close to the investigation suggest officers could make arrests any day.

The suspects are said to have befriended and groomed youngsters who waited at the Elstree gates in the hope of getting the autographs of stars. It is believed police have taken statements from alleged victims and wish to interview others who may have been preyed on by the paedophile ring. The investigation is unrelated to any other ongoing cases involving soap stars.

A BBC spokesman said last night: “The BBC is not aware of this investigation but we take any allegations of this nature extremely seriously. We will be approaching the police to ascertain the details and to offer our full co-operation.”

Proof of a paedophile ring within EastEnders would be a devastating blow to the BBC in the wake of the Jimmy Savile scandal. And it would put a question mark over the future of the soap.

BBC DJ and Jim’ll Fix It host Savile is feared to have sexually abused up to 450 adults and children over a 50-year period. The BBC was accused of a cover-up when it dropped a Newsnight investigation into Savile’s crimes shortly after his death in 2011. An inquiry is investigating whether BBC bosses were aware that Savile preyed on some of his victims on its premises. Some witness claim they were ignored when they raised concerns with BBC bosses about Savile’s suspicious behaviour.

Subtext... Murdoch and Dacre meeting... "Oh my God; all these Coronation Street paedos might deflect attention from the BBC to ITV. That would be disastrous."

Am I too cynical?

On his Savile "expose" Mark williams-Thomas claimed he had often leaked information to local journalists when he was a cop.

Cops have now been arrested by Operation Elveden for same...why not him ?

Having left the force does that absolve him off his actions?

Why do I suspect, if this is even true that is, that if these girls hadn't been hanging around the set if Eastenders hoping to pull one of the cast members, they'd have been hanging about the waltzers at the fair hoping to get the the attention of the oh so (apparently) sexy guys who work there...? Have the police been living on another planet for the last 20 years? If it bothered them then, why didn't they do something then? It sounds like their becoming a bunch of drama queens...

Well, strangely enough this keen Tweeter & online scaremonger & gossip has not communicated to his braindead followers for over a week now.
Elvedon? Injunction? Arrested? Let's hope for the worst (for him - or the best for humanity)

I found this bit worrying

Quote.

“In today’s cash strapped times, police only launch Special Ops units if they have enough evidence in the first place"

End quote.

Might as well not bother with the trial then!

Is that some kind of record for him?

In my thread "falling like ninepins"...I pose the question that the so called "child protection" industry may canabilize itself.

Today I got conformation.

Listening to a foreign radio program re: the raid by Cambodian officials on a so-called 'orphanage', a well known self appointed 'expert ' is interviewed.

She says "I am prepared to offer her the benifit of doubt that nothing untoward was happening" about the woman running the orphange.
(there are over 500 of these so-called 'orphanges' in Cambodia...poor parents hand their kids over so they'll get fed and those running them hoover up donations)
This a dangerous dame/expert that was behind the failed attacks on science fiction writer Arthur C.Clarke.

Other NGOs are furious and lining up to crucify this dame behind the scenes... : she is at the forefront of "lock up the pedos. take away their passports, never let them out of jail etc but most importantly
" the victims must always be believed !'

yet she magnanimously announces to the world..."benefit of doubt" despite several children fleeing the orphanage (and it takes a lot for a Cambodian kid to run away from food and shelter)....career soon over.

Cannibals on the rise.

## and of course- the 'historic crime' of MWT leaking to newspapers as revealed on his own TV show.

karma karma karma......

I think MWT is probably upto no good now as well as in the past. Otherwise, what's with all the lies?

I suspected that...

Why print it if it's not true? Terrible...

If it was in The Sun...It MUST be true, surely?! What ever happened to the Daily Sport? Surely the entire cast of Eastenders, are aliens anyway?

‘Paedo Enders actor abused me...I was 11’: New BBC shock
Soap regular promised to get me on show if I did what he said, says victim Steven
By STEPHEN MOYES and EMILY NASH
Published: 14 hrs ago
Source: thesun.co.uk

A SEX abuse victim told yesterday how an EastEnders actor groomed him as an 11-year-old.
Steven, not his real name, says he was promised a role on the BBC1 soap if he performed degrading acts.
He was forced to wear swimming trunks and cover himself in baby oil while the extra abused him and other sickos leered through peepholes.
Steven, now a 37-year-old engineer, suffered FIVE YEARS of hell at their hands. He spoke out after The Sun revealed last month that cops were investigating claims of underage sex abuse by staff on the soap.

Steven said: “A mate who was already being secretly abused, told me I should meet his EastEnders friend.
“This man and the gang started abusing me within days. They said, ‘If you do this we’ll get you on the show.”
Steven said the actor, who cannot be named, regularly appeared in the Albert Square market.
He added: “I think up to 50 boys were abused but hardly anyone had the courage to go to court.
“Some victims did get a walk-on part. An extra could not arrange that by himself.
“That makes me sure other people on the show were involved in the paedophile ring.”
The abuse of Steven and his friend started in 1987 — two years after the show’s launch — when they visited the flat of another paedo, Harry Jeffries, in Stoke Newington, London.
Steven added: “Three men abused me — the EastEnders actor, Jeffries and another man.
“I would go to the bedroom with one of them for an hour where I would be abused. They would take photos and film me naked.
“A bathroom had been turned into a darkroom so they could develop pictures of me.
“Holes had been cut in the walls everywhere and there was another room behind the bedroom so others could watch. There were two-way mirrors and the air vent was stuffed full of cameras.
“I never knew how many men were getting their kicks watching me suffer.”
Steven was given money to spend on treats and amusement arcades and started smoking cannabis.
He added: “I was too scared and ashamed to speak out. I was so worried about my family being told.”

In 1992, when Steven was 16, cops visited his home with hundreds of pictures of him which they had found at the gang’s other flat.
Jeffries was jailed for two years for taking and possessing indecent photos.
He was found not guilty of indecent assault and served just one year.
Chief Insp Ian Delbarre, formerly of Stoke Newington Child Protection Team, said at the time: “The problem was the trial was linked to a much larger investigation by Scotland Yard and Dutch police.
“Some victims had already been interviewed three times then a re-trial was ordered. Most of the boys had been through enough.”
Steven later battled drink and drug problems but is now clean. He has children who he sees regularly and is in a steady relationship.
Last month police told The Sun they were probing claims that paedos working on the show in the 80s and 90s preyed on young fans.
The BBC is reeling from the Jimmy Savile scandal. Steven said: “I was glad to hear about the investigation. There was a cancer among the EastEnders staff and I want to help expose it.”
It is not alleged that senior staff or past cast members are suspects or knew of illegal activities. Recent staff are not under suspicion.
A BBC spokesperson said: “These allegations were brought to our attention when they were made public in the 1990s and the individual ceased working for the BBC at this time.”
