As expected, an excellent and incisive show by Cockerell; I thought Boris came out of it terrifically well. I've met his sister Rachel, who is incredibly nice and very attractive (and had the courage to commission and publish one of the few reviews of 65 My Life So Far in The Lady). I voted for Ken Livingstone who I like personally very much but switched to Boris simply because of Ken's planned Rolls Royce tax.

So I switched based on K Livingstones planned Roller Tax ? : - )

I'll observe - people are true to type and will vote / side with politics that suit their own situation...........so of course, you do, I do and everyone else does (inc Hedda, although I guess that'll be denied)........thats humans, thats politics.

If I own a house that is expensive and its gonna be taxed higher, of course I'm against it. If I am a student and someone promises no Univesity fees, I'm interested, if they propose to introduce fees, I'm opposed......If I have no money and I'm struggling, I'm going to want welfare, If I have money and I am taxed heavily, I don't want to pay for welfare etc etc etc (to quote the Yul Brynner from King and I)

There is no perfect world, only self interest dressed up in many political and religious clothes.

Yet another obvious reason why Democracy doesn't work. We are all essentially selfish and only vote for our own benefit unless there's no obvious difference or reason, in which case we vote for the candidate we like.
