I see you've made a new film. I really loved Vile Pervert and Me Me Me. They are unlike any other movies. Do you think the Cannes Film Festival will choose it this year?

Thank you; glad you enjoyed the others. Vile Pervert: The Musical has now been watched online by over 100,000 people. As for The Pink Marble Egg - I'm very proud of it and think it's great fun. Can you imagine anyone more ridiculous as James Bond than an elderly, fat queen who used to be a pop star?

Cannes? I seriously doubt it. Even past experimental films ranging from someone sleeping to early Roger Corman horror, from Eraserhead to Withnail and I, from the James Whale and Derek Jarman movies to my Rocky Horror Show - all were ignored by both the paying public and the critics and judges when they first came out.

Even festivals prefer big budget, large corporation films - a bit like the music industry and major labels.

But we can but hope. I continue to go my own way, making things I enjoy constructing and watching.

I admire this in you Jonathan. I love your movies and that you break the corporate mould with doing it all yourself and the public can get to watch them for free without having to go to a cinema. Since the internet's popularity has hit critical mass the distribution gates to reaching an audience have finally flung open no longer under the control of big movie and music companies. The old system of broadcast TV/Radio and movies at the cinema are being challenged in a big way with the world connected to the internet. For the independent content creator this is a good time to be in.

Thank you David. The situation was rather forced upon me, as you'll guess. Knowing full well record shops would no longer stock me and cinemas would not show my films, I had to resort to the new technology.

But part of it was the discovery that you could now not only make your own music at no cost in your bedroom but could also film on professional cameras in High Definition digital quality that would look as good on giant screens as those made by the big budget boys.

Originally Vile Pervert: The Musical was intended to be a one off; simply putting my side of the story across to anyone interested in hearing it. But I loved making it so much that I decided to make a movie with proper actors, a script, locations and humour... and Me Me Me was born.

That went down so well with (mainly the under 25s it was aimed at) those who saw it that I decided to try for a third; a combination of both previous films, taking the use of music along the same road...

So Ladies and Gentlemen I present... The Pink Marble Egg... screening at the Cannes Film Festival in May, available for home viewing now on...
