TOPIC: Tate remove Ovenden paintings

I have no idea whether the man was guilty or not but am I alone in finding this re-assessment of art disturbing? Michelangelo next? Smash the statue of David as the man was a Vile Pervert? And burn the Mona Lisa - Leonardo was damn suspect sexually.

This really offends me.
Do people think they can catch paedophilia by looking at a painting or listening to a record?
It's as if they have to make sure everyone knows that they are against child abuse(well, who isn't? )as they gasp and race to the CD player to switch off "loop di love"
(this actually happened at a party I went to. )

This whole witch hunt - for that is what it is - against false paedophilia is very much an attack on the arts.

Call me cynical but this whole contrived business has been a 15 year experiment, starting with Gary Glitter, of how far this lunacy can be pushed. The Jimmy Savile conspiracy has showed they can push it all the way.

Call me cynical for this as well but I don't trust any organisation in the UK at all. 2012 taught me two things - people (the general population) have been dumbed down so far it's irreversible and truth no longer matters to anyone anymore.

the Tate wimped out and was scared of the Sun style backlash which would also come from Guardian types, so well entrenched is the pedo scare.

it is a modern disgrace.

I have no reason to suspect that the verdict is incorrect without knowing more about it, but if I remember right the "Lolita" drawings are of a teenage girl minding her own business sitting or lying bored on the bed mostly, and although partially nude they were not posed in a sexual way (unless I missed something?)
Now that they have "disappeared" everyone that hasn't seen them will imagine something dreadful.
