we can debate the effects of Thatcherism forever but her greatest failure was to believe the buccaneer Rupert Murdoch who has harbored a hate for Britain since his dad Sir Keith was a war correspondent at Gallipoli (where the British generals were so incompetent 1000s died needlessly).

Oddly though, Sir Keith went onto try and destroy the brilliant Australian war General Sir John Monash and many say that it was because he was anti-Semetic (even though Rupert's mom is Jewish) which belies the great conspiracy claim Murdoch is a Zionist.

He is just a great and successful opportunist who can, if needed, charm the birds out of the tree (and did with Maggie).

Murdoch set out to dumb down Britain and I reckon he succeeded but it's all gone pie-eyed with both the hacking scandal and the fact he completely under-estimated the rise of the digital age.

I've said it and I believe it- he is setting up Australia as his bolt hole
